This adorable unicorn has been designed to be easy to knit and suitable for beginners. The pattern is easy to follow with plenty of pictures to help understand the shape of parts, and putting them together.

After a new arrival in our wider family, I (Tim) was motivated to make a soft toy as a gift. I enjoyed it so much that I made a few more soft toy gifts. I enjoyed this so much that I started designing some myself and after many trials my woodland animals were born. I wanted to create something that allowed a child to use their imagination and so I based the animals on a rectangular shape, and focused on the main characteristics of each animal, such as the squirrel's tail, owl's eyes, rabbit's ears and the fox's tail. After adding the mouse, hedgehog, bat and robin I ventured in to safari animals to design the flamingo, lion, elephant and zebra before now adding the unicorn to the collection.
These animals make a wonderful gift for any newborn, child, loved one, friend or maybe just for yourself!
The finished size of The Unicorn is 23cm tall and requires Sport/DK Light yarn and 3.25-3.5mm needles.
The techniques required to knit The Fox include knit and purl, casting on and off, simple increase and decrease, and seaming.
