Handmade coil and pinch sunflower garlic pot

I love making these pots because sunflowers are just happy flowers, and I made this one following a customer commenting how nice it would be to have one to match the sugar bowl they had bought. This pot was handmade using coil and pinch techniques and finished in a sea foam blue glaze. The interior of the pot is clear glazed and there are 4 air holes on the rear of the pot. It measures 12cm to the top of the knob and the opening is 6.5cm wide. The pot fits 2 large bulbs of garlic.

The reason that I enjoy making by hand is that each piece is unique. It retains marks and impressions made during construction, giving the owner a meaningful connection to the maker and the knowledge that the item they are using was happily made by another person.
